The crib does not look as good as it does in the picture
I am not very impressed with this crib. This is the third crib that I have owned. The crib does not look as good as it does in the picture, but more importantly it could have been designed to be much sturdier than it is.

The back of the crib is fine. However, the front area of the crib is a little flimsy. The slats and the sleigh style rail of the crib are two separate pieces. The slatted part goes into a slot using large wooden dowels and the top rail is secured using bolts. This results in a less sturdy design with more give than if it was one piece bolted in or bolts were used for both pieces. The mattress frame also sits up unusually high. For a newborn the highest level is usually used, however, in the case of this crib we will be putting it on the second level. The mattress frame also attaches to the crib frame.
